Cambodia’s First Highway to Start Construction by November
Phnom Penh- It is confirmed that the 190 kilometers highway will start construction by November stretching over Phnom Penh and Sihanouk Ville and also will become the nation’s first highway ever.
It will start from Chom Chao area, Phnom Penh, specifically Top Nop Kob Srov street which connects National Road 4 and 5. China Road and Bridge Corporation who was granted the project have said they are ready to begin work, said Simsorya, a spokesman of the Ministry of Interior.
The government is now planning on a compensation plan for the people affected by the project. Despite running 50 kilometers shorter than the existing national route, it costs $2 billion, the 4-lane highway will take up to 4 years to complete.
